After running 40,000 simulations, statistical analysis site FiveThirtyEight, predicts that Joe Biden has a 71% chance of winning the presidential election. The predicted chance of victory currently being reported by FiveThirtyEight for Joe Biden is exactly the same as they reported for Hilary Clinton on election day 2016.
FiveThirtyEight editor Nate Silver stated that a lot can change in the final stretch of the election season, especially where nominating conventions and presidential debates are still to come. He explained that it has not “been that uncommon, historically, for polls to shift fairly radically from mid-August until Election Day.”
Silver also added that “President Trump is likely to have an advantage in a close election because of the Electoral College.” Analysts agree, predicting that President Trump may be victorious in November without leading Biden in the popular vote total.
