Think you know the story of the American Revolution? Well, think again. America: The Motion Picture, a new animated comedy coming to Netflix this week, tells the story of the creation of America like you’ve never heard it before, which is to say, it’s entirely inaccurate.
To give you a better idea of what to expect: This movie stars the voice of Channing Tatum as George Washington, who is the super-buff best friend of Abraham Lincoln (Will Forte). George and Abe are mega bummed that their ex-buddy Benedict Arnold (Andy Samberg) has decided to turn on them to join the “fun police,” aka the British, to stop them from partying and having a good time. So, yeah, it’s a fairly loose interpretation.
This R-rated comedy is produced by The Lego Movie‘s Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and directed by Matt Thompson, who is best known for his work as an executive producer and director of the FX adult animated series Archer. There’s no doubt that America: The Motion Picture will deliver exactly what audiences expect from it, so here’s what you need to know about the America: The Motion Picture release date and release time.
