President Trump’s 2020 vision is clear in the Hawkeye State, as he has won Iowa, according to Fox News.
With the triumph, Trump snares another half-dozen electoral votes, en route to the 270 votes needed to lock down a second term and fend off Democratic challenger Joe Biden.
Trump, who emerged victorious in the state in 2016, was narrowly predicted to win again, carrying a 2 percentage point lead into Election Day, according to RealClearPolitics’ polling average.
Biden tried but failed to overcome Trump’s previous success, his popularity among farmers and a Republican National Convention show of support for the incumbent from Republican Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst.
Trump’s win spoiled what would have been something of a full-circle turn for Biden, who in August 2019 was the first Democratic candidate to swing by the state’s bellwether Iowa State Fair, winning the famed corn-kernel poll.
