Seattle couple believe drive-by shooter targeted house over ‘thin blue line’ flag

A couple in Seattle had their house shot up by a drive-by gunman — and believe they were targeted because of their pro-police flag.

The shooter pulled up in a dark SUV last Friday and squeezed off nine shots, hitting the couple’s home and car six times, they told local news station KIRO.

The couple, grandparents who have lived in the north Seattle neighborhood for 30 years, told the station they believe they were targeted because they fly a “thin blue line” flag outside their house.

“Everybody has an opinion and we’re entitled to it. You don’t shoot me for it!” the grandmother told the news station.

Her husband added that people have come to their home several times to complain about the flag. Once, a vandal scrawled “ACAB” — short for “all cops are bastards” — in spray paint in front of their house, according to the report.

Police warned the couple to take the flag down to ensure their safety, the woman told KIRO.

“The police said as much as we appreciate your support, we tell our families don’t fly them,” she said.
