Rays vs. Astros prediction: Tyler Glasnow will lead Tampa Bay to sweep

The Rays are closing in on the franchise’s second World Series berth and will look to one of the American League’s top strikeout pitchers to get a big win in Game 4 of the ALCS against the Astros.

Between the regular and postseason, Tyler Glasnow has registered 14.1 strikeouts per nine innings, the most of any pitcher with at least 50 innings logged this season, and has given up two runs or fewer in three of his past four traditional starts in addition to going 2¹/₃ scoreless innings as the opener against the Yankees in Game 5 of the ALDS.

He will go against a former Cy Young Award winner in Zack Greinke who seems to be diminishing (he’ll turn 37 next week), as he has allowed at least three earned runs in eight of his last nine starts and gone five innings or fewer in each of his past five starts.

The Rays have a huge bullpen advantage. During the regular season, despite throwing 35 ¹/₃ innings more, Tampa Bay’s bullpen ERA was more than a full point better than Houston’s.

With the way the Rays excel at utilizing different lineups for different situations, and it resulting in nine different Rays belting at least one home run this postseason entering Tuesday, the offense should find a way to give Glasnow the run support he needs for the Rays to win Game 4.

The play: Rays to win Game 4, moneyline.
