Queens man convicted of inciting violence against Democratic pols

A Brooklyn federal jury convicted a Queens man Wednesday of calling for the assassination of Democratic lawmakers in a video clip — and now he could end up in prison for up to 10 years.

After a one-week trial, Brendan Hunt, 37, was found guilty of threatening to assault and murder a US official — the sole count against him for posting an 88-second video in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot titled “Kill your senators. Slaughter them all.”

The panel, however, did not find him guilty of all the alleged threats that formed the basis of the charge — including a Dec. 6 Facebook rant in which he called for the public execution of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Charles Schumer.

“We have to show up with our guns, and we need to slaughter these motherf–kers,” he rallied in the video uploaded Jan. 8 to Bitchute. “Get your guns, show up to DC, and literally just spray these motherf–kers. That’s the only option.”

The former court employee took the stand in his own defense Tuesday, telling jurors that he was stoned and drunk when he made the statements. “I was really just letting off steam,” he said. “It was really more online blather than anything else.”

Hunt’s attorneys argued that he didn’t pose a real threat and that his violent rants are protected speech.
