A pregnant Texas mother was tragically killed alongside her two young children during a three-car collision Monday, authorities said.
Brittany Counts, 25, was driving her 2007 Ford Edge on Texas State Highway 199 in Springtown before 1 p.m. when she lost control of her speed, and made a left move trying to avoid an incoming GMC pickup truck, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a statement obtained by People magazine.
Counts failed to avoid hitting the truck, which caused her car to spin into the westbound lane of traffic where she was struck by a 2016 Ford F-150 pick up, officials said.
The collision killed Counts, her son Wyatt Mask, 7, and daughter Preslee Mask, 4, according to officials. The driver of the F-150 was injured and hospitalized.
After the incident, Counts’ fiancé Dillon Latta mourned her death saying they were expecting a baby girl next year.
“Your the love of my life. Our baby girl was due in May. God please help me through this I don’t know what to do,” Latta wrote on Facebook Tuesday.
