Happy Friday, party people! I could babble on about the weather, or this week’s current events or some random unrelated topic to fill this intro paragraph, but all you care about is the hot new movies and shows that are new on streaming this weekend! And since there are a ton, this author is not going to keep you waiting any longer. Whether you’re scrolling through Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or all of the above, hitting up the freshest titles on streaming is always the best way to kick off the weekend. But with so many great options to choose from, where should you start? Here’s our take on what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: Sky Rojo, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Zack Snyder’s Justice League
There are a ton of new movies and shows to stream on every platform possible this weekend, but let’s start with the biggest winners. On Disney+ you can ~finally~ watch the premiere episode of the MCU’s latest series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Fall back into the hysterical rivalry between Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier as they try to restore order in a world without Steve Rogers’ Captain America. They really need some sort of couples counseling! But one episode is not enough to sate your superhero-sized appetite, so head on over to HBO Max where the hotly-anticipated “Snyder cut” of the 2017 film Justice League has been available to watch starting yesterday. And if you are looking for a great option on one of the more original/foundational streaming services, be sure to check out Sky Rojo, the sexy new crime drama from Money Heist creator Álex Pina on Netflix. Like we said, there are so many more great movies and shows like these available to check out this weekend! And to get started, check out some highlights from the great movies and shows now streaming we’ve listed below:
New on Netflix March 19: Sky Rojo
New on Netflix this weekend is Sky Rojo, a Spanish Netflix-original crime drama series that is about to ‘add a little spice’ to the genre. The latest series from Money Heist creator Álex Pina, this sexy show centers on three women — Coral, Wendy, and Gina — who want nothing more than a chance at a normal life away from their controlling and sadistic pimp. But when they finally strike back against their captor, disaster strikes, sending them on the run from their pasts and for their lives. Packed with adrenaline-pumping action scenes and dark humor, Sky Rojo is the new hit show to watch. And once you’ve finished with Sky Rojo, check out the other best movies and shows on Netflix.
New on Disney+ March 19: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
The dream team is back, Stackie fans! After a record-breaking debut with WandaVision, the MCU has released its next action-packed series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier; and this highly-anticipated premiere is new on Disney+ this weekend. Much like the title suggests, the series centers on Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, the remnants of Steve Rogers’ dream team. Post-Endgame, the world has been left in shambles, creating the opportunity for dissidents and anarchists to find footholds in the new reality. So despite their ever-present tension, the duo form an unlikely alliance and embark on a global adventure to thwart the activities of the Flag-Smashers, an anti-patriotism terrorist cell that has seeped through the cracks. Whenever these two superstars are on screen together, hysterics and chaos always follow; so be sure to check out The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to watch the magic continue — and even catch some awesome easter eggs and other returning characters in the process!

New on HBO Max March 18: Zack Snyder’s Justice League
After much buzz and manic anticipation, the “Snyder Cut” of the 2017 superhero film Justice League is finally new on HBO Max this weekend. This movie is not brand new; it still centers on Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) who team up and recruit the likes of Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller) and more to to protect the world from an upcoming threat of catastrophic proportions — and make sure that Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain. But what has the nerd-verse aflutter is the fact that this recut of Joss Whedon’s flick has been four years in the making, and with Warner Bros. in the original director’s corner, we can be sure that this Justice League is exactly how Snyder intended it.
