Convicted killer Erik Menendez in isolation after prison pot delivery

Convicted killer Erik Mendez is truly in a “high” security prison.

The 49-year-old jailbird was sent to an isolation unit Monday after officials at the California prison intercepted a package of pot mailed to him, according to a report.

Mendez — who slaughtered his millionaire parents in their Beverly Hills mansion in 1989 — was sent the special delivery while doing time at the R.J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, TMZ reported.

But the plan went to pot when prison workers discovered the weed, prompting officials to launch an investigation into whether Mendez was in on it, according to the outlet.

Along with probing whether he knew about the half-baked scheme, officials are looking into if he planned to distribute or sell the drug.

The incident will be referred to the DA for prosecution if investigators conclude that he had someone send him the package.

In 1996, Mendez and his brother, Lyle, were sentenced to life without parole for murdering their parents with a shotgun in a case that became an international sensation.
