German drama 3096 Days is seeing a resurgence nearly 10 years after it first premiered in 2013, and it’s thanks to TikTok. A whole new audience is discovering the gripping story about a young woman who is kidnapped and imprisoned for eight years until she finally manages to free herself and escape.
The movie is based on the chilling real life experiences of Natascha Kampusch, who was just 10 years old when she was kidnapped by Wolfgang Přiklopil. For years, Kampusch was kept in a small room, starved and abused by her captor. The film recreates her horrifying story, with Antonia Campbell-Hughes taking on the role of Kampusch and Thure Lindhardt playing her captor.
